Dr. Ramsey McGowen, retired professor from ETSU, will be the guest speaker at the Carter County Democratic Women’s Meeting on Tuesday, May 23 at 6:00PM — 7:30PM at Beef-O-Brady’s in Elizabethton. McGowen will be speaking on the topic of gerrymandering. McGowen spoke on this topic recently at the local Women’s March on Washington. Important activities of the C.C. Democratic Women’s Club and the Democratic Party will also be discussed. Men and women are invited to attend.
Professional Background: Dr. McGowen is the recipient of numerous awards for teaching and service including Distinguished Teaching Award in the Clinical Sciences, the Dean’s Teaching Award, Faculty Leader in Service Learning Award, and the prestigious Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society. Dr. McGowen currently serves as the Director of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry.
